The Avalanche XTR 1/8 Scale Nitro RTR Monster Truck from Redcat Racing comes ready to romp with its big block M28 engine, dual disc brakes, 4WD, and aluminum body oil filled shocks. With rugged monster wheels and wide body stance, you'll explode over rocks and pulverize puny 1/10 scale trucks! The Avalanche XTR also features sealed differentials, a 2.4GHz DSM-2C radio, and a generous 60mm (2.36in) ground clearance. The fuel tank holds 125cc for plenty of fun and its single speed transmission will last and last.

As with many nitro powered vehicles, a separate starter kit is needed for the Avalanche XTR monster truck. The basic starter kit option is the Redcat Racing kit 80142A, available at top right. The electric starter kit option with this model, which does not include a glow plug ignitor, is Redcat Racing 70111E-Kit plus the backing plate for the 0.28 engine, Redcat Racing part 11012H12. To use the electric starter kit, you must first install a backing plate onto the engine and then put the engine back into the chassis. A glow plug ignitor is still required to run the Avalanche monster truck; the electric starter takes the place of the hand pull on the cord to crank up the engine.

The Avalanche XTR is the latest member of the Redcat Racing XTR nitro 1/8 scale professional series and replaces the older Avalanche XP monster truck. The chassis has been updated to the rugged XTR platform that is also used with the Hurricane XTR and the Monsoon XTR.
