The powerful Redcat Rampage XT 1/5 Scale Gasoline Truck is smoking hot and ready to rock! It comes with a big, 30cc two stroke gas engine and 4WD steering with a single speed transmission. Dual disc brakes, aluminum chassis, and Rampage tough aluminum body oil-filled shocks are also standard. The truck has also been engineered with steel gears for durability, as are all the other Rampages made in 2011. You'll certainly get plenty of run time with its 500cc fuel tank. In fact, your Rampage XT might just wear you out before its tank runs dry! The 2.4GHz radio lets you control this monster truck with the flick of a finger without concern for radio signal interference.
The Redcat Racing Rampage XT comes in gorgeous blue and red colors and is recommended for ages 14 and up by the manufacturer. Make sure to select your favorite color when ordering!
Tale of the tape: the truck measures 29.5 inches long x 21.2 inches wide x 12.6 inches high with a 1.6 inch ground clearance. Its dry weight is 23.1 lbs, or 10.5 kg.
What else do you need to run it? You'll need gasoline, two cycle engine oil, AA batteries for the transmitter, and thread lock such as blue loctite for screws that thread into metal. Redcat Racing suggests a 25:1 mix of gasoline with oil to run the truck. Gasoline and nitro powered vehicles experience lots of vibration that will loosen screws unless loctite is used to secure them. Some hobbyists have used red loctite instead for the wheels, but this type of loctite requires heat to remove it.
Are there any good upgrades for the Redcat Racing Rampage XT? Why, of course there are! We're glad you asked. Some people like to later upgrade the stock steering servo to the Hitec HS-5755MG metal gear model. We offer this servo together with servo horns (Redcat Racing part 50118) and a servo mount (Redcat Racing part 07123) that are compatible with this truck as a Hitec Metal Gear Servo Upgrade Kit.
How does the Rampage XT compare with the Rampage MT? The Rampage X-series trucks and buggies are still 1/5 scale, but lighter and a little smaller than the M-series 1/5 scale models. The Rampage XT is nearly 10 pounds lighter than the MT. The MT truck, which is heavier, uses dual steering servos while the smaller XT truck just has a single servo. Both models currently come with steel gears and a 30cc engine. MT models before 2011 used a 26cc engine.
