The Redcat Racing Volcano EPX Pro1/10 scale monster truck is a blast to drive with its aluminum capped, oil-filled shocks and large, soft compound rubber tires. This vehicle is very similar to the Redcat Racing Volcano EPX, but the Pro version adds brushless electronics plus a 2.4GHz DSM-2C pistol grip radio.
The Volcano EPX Pro also has 4WD with forward and reverse modes, and a durable polycarbonate body that looks great on any trail. Some trucks, especially those optimized for racing, may not come with a reverse mode but if you've ever bashed in your backyard you know there are times when it can be handy. Polycarbonate is good at resisting road rash and dents, but replacement shells and other parts are available should you need them.
The brushless 3300Kv 540 type motor gives it plenty of pep. Together with the brushless ESC, the Volcano EPX Pro is fully 2S LiPo ready. You can upgrade to LiPo power by simply plugging in a new two cell LiPo battery and getting a LiPo battery charger.
This truck measures 15.7"" long x 12.2"" wide x 7.3"" high and its ground clearance is 1.2"". A 2.4GHz radio, rechargeable 7.2V 1800-2200mAh motor battery, and a wall charger are included in the box. The Redcat Racing Volcano EPX Pro is completely ready-to-run apart from 8 AA size batteries for the transmitter that are not included. This model is available in two color schemes: blue and silver, or blue and black.
Optional upgrades we offer include a smart charger for faster recharging and extra batteries. With the Tenergy Universal Fast Smart Charger for 7.2V-12V NiCd and NiMH batteries, you can recharge in about 1-2hrs. With an extra battery, you can get more run time with your truck during the afternoon. We do recommend an extra battery for the Volcano since the stock battery has only ~2000mAh capacity. LiPo batteries are also available, but you would need to add a LiPo charger as well to use them.
There are two versions of the Volcano truck. This listing is for the brushless electric Volcano EPX Pro version. We also have a 1/10 scale brushed electric Volcano EPX that you may be interested in if you like the design and style of the Volcano but want something a bit less expensive.
