The Venom Island Hopper 3CH Park Flyer is a fun plane to pilot when you want to learn to fly or just relax on a lazy afternoon. Its festive design can put a smile on anyone's face! This is a fine plane for a beginner that won't break the bank. Three channel means you can direct the plane with throttle, rudder, and elevator controls from the 27MHz radio. The button on the left of the fuselage can be a handy safety feature when kids are around - the propellers won't turn until the motor is armed by pressing that button. The 370A motor is powered by a 9.6V 650mAh NiMH battery for flights of 7-10 minutes. The Island Hopper measures 29.5 inches long and has a wingspan of 37 inches, so it is small enough to be easy to transport but large enough to not be blown away by light winds.

Minor assembly is required, as is typical with rc planes. This includes gluing the horizontal tail and vertical stabilizer on the fuselage with foam safe CA. These are the only steps that require glue. The landing gear must also be put on, the wing pieces must be fastened together with the wing spar, and the propeller has to be screwed into the nose of the fuselage. Servo linkages also have to be installed to allow control of the rudder and elevators. Beyond that, the Venom Island Hopper is ready-to-fly once the battery has been charged and eight AA batteries have been added to the transmitter. A wall charger for the motor battery is included.

The electronics are reliable and, unlike some other makers of sub-$100 planes, Venom makes spare parts for theirs. Spare parts include not only propellers, but nose cowls, main wings, tail sets, motors, servos, and more.
